We went to Lincoln this weekend to celebrate Matt's birthday. Saturday we met our good friends Paul and Jess and their kids for Zach's very first basketball game. Nebraska's basketball team isn't very good, but they actually won this weekend! We went out to dinner with Steve and Kathy on Saturday night and came back for cake and ice cream. Matt's cake was complete with 34 candles - the room was a little hazy after they were all blown out!
Raising kids is an adventure. We find ourselves laughing every day at things our kids do and we wanted to share our experiences.

Crawling!
After saying that Ty is close to crawling for almost 2 months the little guy finally is figuring it out! He gets up and crawls a little ways and then ends up on his tummy and army crawls to whatever he wants. Here is a video of him trying to get Daddy's phone on Saturday morning. Notice that his biggest cheerleader is his big brother in the background!

Hockey Game
Zach loves going to see the junior league Des Moines Buccaneer games. We went to our first game for the season on Saturday. Zach says his favorite thing about going to the hockey game is eating the popcorn. He then likes to talk to us about how the hockey players fight - which Matt and I try to downplay! Here are some pictures of the silly boys at the game.

Zach is excited to have popocorn! |
No, Mom. I will not stop eating my popcorn for a picture! |
Having fun cheering for the bucs! |
Ty fell asleep during at the end of the second period. He woke up during the third period when the Bucs scored to tie up the game. |
Zach and Frannie were playing before the game. She was wearing a necklace to go to Disney World. She puts up with a lot! |
Another sick day...
Ty continues to have troubles with his ears. We took him in on Monday to learn he has another double ear infection. He was sent home from daycare with a fever so he and I got to spend the day at home. We have done the ear infection routine with Zach so we are pushing for tubes. Unfortunately he will need 2-3 more ear infections before the doctor will refer him to the ENT.
